Frequently Asked Questions

What Hours Are You Open?

We are open 8:30AM - 5:30PM, Monday through Friday. We offer a 7:30AM - 8:30AM Early Drop-off option with limited capacity. Registration is required for Early Drop-off, and prospective families should inquire with our team if interested in registering for early care.

What Days Are You Open?

Our school year runs August through July, with a two-week Summer Break, a week-long Spring Break, and a two-week Winter Break.

We close in observation of federal holidays (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, July 4th, etc.)

We close for half or full days in observation of major Jewish Holidays (Passover, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, etc.)

Prospective families should inquire with our team for a full closure calendar.

Do You Have Part-Time Options?

We do not offer part-time care. While families may choose to pick children up early or keep children home from school at their discretion, we encourage full-time attendance to maintain a consistent routine for students and to allow students to fully enjoy the benefits of our program. Regardless of how often students attend, all families pay full-time tuition. â€‹

Can I Take A Tour?

Yes, we offer monthly group tours for prospective families. See the Get Started page to sign up for an upcoming tour.

What Are the Class Sizes?

Infant classes are 8 students, and all older classes range from 12 to 14 students. â€‹

Do You Only Accept Jewish Families?

We are proudly interfaith and inclusive, welcoming families and children of all faiths and backgrounds.

Do You Provide Meals?

We provide an AM Snack and a PM Snack (included in your tuition) every school day. School snacks typically include some combination of fruit, cheese, vegetables, and healthy carbs. Snack calendars are available to current families.

For lunches, families have the option to either send a packed lunch from home or order a lunch through Barnison Catering. Barnison lunches are made fresh and delivered daily to the school.

How Do You Communicate with Families?

We primarily use Brightwheel for daily communication. Brightwheel is an all-in-one mobile app that enables parent-teacher communication and allows real-time updates on a child’s school day. Families use Brightwheel to see pictures and updates from school, message directly with their child’s teachers, and securely check children in and out at the beginning and end of the day.

In addition to Brightwheel, families receive regular emails from teachers and administration with information about school events and programs.

Are Enrichments Included in Tuition?

Yes, all of our rotating Enrichments (Art, Music, Yoga, Soccer, depending on the year) are included in tuition. â€‹

What Makes cdc@cbi A Jewish School?

We are proud to operate as part of Congregation Beth Israel and to provide care and education for many families in the congregation. We incorporate Jewish values into our curriculum, hold a weekly child-friendly Shabbat for all students, and include Jewish holidays and traditions in our activities, events, and learning.
